We really get excited about destination weddings. All of the new sights, new people, new wedding customs, and new venues, are food (dessert and a cocktail!) for our senses. It’s just great adventure and we can’t get enough of it.
And it was especially so for such a colorful, fun, and festive wedding like Linet and Oliver’s in L.A. To say they are a fun, energetic, and loving couple is more than an understatement. Even the priest commented—during the ceremony!-- that Linet said, “Yes!” louder than any bride he’s ever married. Indeed, she was clearly heard and the response was a round of applause from the full church.
The reception was fun-filled with new experiences for us. The traditional drum and horn, the “bribe” for the bride, and the basket of flowers carried above the head were part of the happy and spirited reception. Congratulations to a wonderful couple and thanks so much for letting us be there.
“You may now kiss the bride,” and when James kissed Melissa, whoops, cheers, and applause rang through St. Catherine of Siena Parish Catholic Church in Burlingame. I could tell this was going to be a lively reception. And lively it was at the Westin Hotel in Millbrae. Melissa and James hit the dance floor like the happy couple they obviously were. There’s nothing like an enthusiastic crowd and that First Dance to shake off any wedding day nerves. The music they chose for this video perfectly reflects James’ feelings: “Girl, you’re amazing, just the way you are.” Congratulations to Melissa and James on this happiest of days.
The stately, elegant, and historic jewel of a ballroom is Julia Morgan’s Grand Ballroom in San Francisco. With a full-to-capacity room of happy and excited guests, Venus and Ali rocked the room with their First Dance.
The table spread you see is the sophreh, an important part of a Persian wedding. It is carefully prepared so that what it contains is believed and hoped to be in the couple’s life and marriage. Just like the bride herself, the sophreh was sparkling and beautifully turned out.
This sensational wedding was infectiously joyful and fun. Venus and Ali were the epitome and charm, and it was my privilege to work with them.
Just shot Nicole & Jim's save the date video, can't wait for the wedding next year in Minneapolis.
